Bringing Flight Enquiries, Sales Workflows and Travel Operations Into One Platform

The Requirement

FareFuzz needed a better way to manage the operational journey that begins after a traveller submits a flight requirement.

For a travel business, capturing an enquiry is only the first step. Sales teams then need to understand the itinerary, work with route and flight information, communicate with the traveller, manage the opportunity and keep track of its progress through multiple stages.

The requirement was to build a platform that could bring these activities into a more structured workflow by connecting:

  • flight and traveller requirements;
  • enquiry management;
  • customer information;
  • internal sales workflows;
  • CRM activity;
  • route and travel information;
  • communication systems;
  • third-party travel infrastructure.

The objective was to reduce fragmentation between the customer enquiry and the teams responsible for progressing it.

Our Role

We worked across the product and delivery lifecycle, with particular focus on translating the travel sales process into structured digital workflows.

Our scope included:

  • platform planning and technical direction;
  • enquiry-management workflows;
  • CRM and sales-process development;
  • flight and route logic;
  • customer and trip information flows;
  • frontend and backend engineering;
  • coordination with Amadeus and GDS teams;
  • RingCentral integration coordination;
  • management of third-party dependencies;
  • QA and release coordination.

We also worked across external technology providers and internal stakeholders, helping ensure that the operational workflow functioned as one connected system.

The Solution

We developed a travel operations platform that turns incoming flight requirements into structured opportunities that sales teams can manage through the customer journey.

Instead of treating every flight request as an isolated website enquiry, relevant traveller and itinerary information enters a central workflow where it can be accessed and progressed by the internal team.

The operating journey connects:

Traveller Requirement → Enquiry Creation → CRM Workflow → Route & Flight Information → Sales Follow-Up → Booking Progression

Structuring the Enquiry

Traveller information captured at the beginning of the journey is organised around the actual trip requirement.

This includes information such as:

  • origin and destination;
  • travel dates;
  • passenger requirements;
  • cabin preference;
  • trip details;
  • customer information.

That information becomes part of the working record used by the sales team rather than remaining inside individual form submissions or disconnected communication channels.

CRM-Led Sales Workflow

The CRM layer provides a structured way for teams to manage enquiries as they progress.

The platform connects customer information, trip requirements and subsequent sales activity so that the team has a clearer view of each opportunity.

This creates a common operating environment around:

  • incoming enquiries;
  • traveller requirements;
  • sales follow-up;
  • enquiry status;
  • trip information;
  • ongoing customer communication.

Connecting Travel and Communication Systems

The platform also had to operate around external systems that form part of the travel-sales process.

We coordinated technical dependencies involving:

  • Amadeus;
  • GDS infrastructure;
  • RingCentral;
  • internal platform and CRM workflows.

Rather than building each integration as an isolated feature, the focus was on how information from those systems needed to support the sales and operations process.

Business Workflow Automation

A major part of the product was turning what could otherwise become a series of disconnected manual activities into a structured digital journey.

Customer information captured at the enquiry stage becomes available to the sales workflow, while travel and communication systems support the subsequent stages of the same opportunity.

This reduces the need to repeatedly move information between separate tools as an enquiry progresses.

Operational Outcome

The platform created a central workflow for managing travel enquiries from initial customer requirement through the internal sales process.

It enabled FareFuzz to:

  • organise traveller and itinerary information within one operating system;
  • manage enquiries through structured CRM workflows;
  • give sales teams clearer visibility into active opportunities;
  • connect customer requirements with route and travel information;
  • bring communication activity closer to the sales workflow;
  • reduce fragmentation between customer enquiries, travel systems and internal operations.

The result is a travel platform built not only around finding flights, but around how a travel business actually manages and progresses an enquiry once it arrives.
