Building a Travel Booking and Operations Platform Across Search, CRM and Third-Party Systems

The Requirement

Business Class Vault needed more than a customer-facing flight search experience.

The business required a platform that could connect the traveller journey with the internal sales and operations process behind each enquiry.

The system needed to bring together:

  • flight search and travel requirements;
  • business and first-class enquiries;
  • customer information;
  • internal CRM workflows;
  • route and booking logic;
  • communication workflows;
  • third-party travel systems.

The complexity came from the number of systems involved. The customer-facing experience had to remain simple while the platform coordinated information across Amadeus, GDS infrastructure, RingCentral and internal operations.

Our Role

We worked as the product development and delivery team across the customer-facing platform and the operational systems behind it.

Our scope included:

  • platform planning and technical direction;
  • flight search and enquiry workflows;
  • responsive web application development;
  • CRM and internal sales workflows;
  • route and travel logic;
  • coordination of Amadeus and GDS integrations;
  • RingCentral integration coordination;
  • frontend and backend development;
  • management of third-party technical dependencies;
  • QA and release coordination.

A significant part of our role was ensuring that the different external systems and internal workflows operated as one connected platform rather than separate tools.

The Solution

We developed a travel platform that connects the traveller’s initial search with the teams and systems responsible for progressing the enquiry.

The customer journey begins with a structured flight search where travellers can provide information such as:

  • origin and destination;
  • travel dates;
  • cabin class;
  • passenger requirements;
  • trip details.

Those requirements then move into the wider operational workflow rather than ending as a standalone website enquiry.

The overall journey connects:

Flight Search → Customer Enquiry → Travel Data & Route Logic → CRM Workflow → Sales Follow-Up

Connecting the Customer and Operations Layers

The public platform was designed to keep the travel enquiry simple for the customer.

Behind it, the system structures the submitted information so internal teams can work with the enquiry through an organised CRM workflow.

This gives sales teams visibility into the traveller’s requirements and provides a clearer process for progressing each opportunity.

Third-Party Travel Integrations

Travel platforms depend heavily on systems outside the application itself.

The project involved coordination across:

  • Amadeus for travel-related infrastructure;
  • GDS systems supporting flight and itinerary information;
  • RingCentral for communication workflows;
  • internal sales and CRM systems.

These integrations created dependencies around APIs, data structures, system behaviour and implementation timelines.

Our role included coordinating those dependencies so information could move correctly between the customer experience, travel infrastructure and internal operations.

Building Around the Complete Enquiry Journey

The platform was not treated as a flight-search website with a CRM attached later.

The customer and operational workflows were developed as connected parts of the same system.

That meant considering how information captured at the beginning of the journey would subsequently be used by the sales team, external travel systems and communication tools.

Operational Outcome

The platform brought customer enquiries and the internal travel-sales workflow into a more connected operating environment.

It enabled Business Class Vault to:

  • capture structured travel requirements through one customer journey;
  • connect enquiries with internal CRM workflows;
  • organise customer and trip information for sales teams;
  • coordinate travel data across external systems;
  • support communication through connected tools;
  • reduce fragmentation between the website and the operational process behind each enquiry.

For customers, the experience remains focused on providing their travel requirements.

For the business, those same inputs become structured information that can move through the systems and teams responsible for progressing the booking.

The result is a platform that connects customer acquisition, travel technology and internal operations rather than treating them as separate digital functions.
