Aladin Beauty needed a new ecommerce store capable of supporting a large and growing multi-brand beauty catalogue.
Because the store was being built from scratch, the work started much earlier than UI design. We first had to define how the catalogue itself should be organised so customers, the internal team and search engines could all navigate it logically.
The foundation needed to cover:
We worked across the ecommerce strategy, UX and Shopify implementation.
Our scope included:
A major part of the project was creating the commerce structure before creating the screens, so the store could scale without becoming difficult to manage as products and brands were added.
We created the Shopify architecture around the different ways customers could enter and explore the catalogue.
Products were organised into logical collections and relationships across:
Metaobjects and metafields were defined for information that needed to remain structured and reusable instead of being manually added inside product descriptions.
This allowed us to create consistent templates while still supporting different types of products and content.
The multilingual experience was implemented through Adapt across navigation, products, collections and reusable sections.
SEO requirements were also incorporated into the build from the beginning. We structured templates around:
This meant design, Shopify architecture and SEO were developed together rather than one being adapted around the other later.
Aladin Beauty launched with an ecommerce foundation designed to support catalogue growth from day one.
The structure gives the business:
The result is a Shopify store built around both the customer journey and the long-term manageability of a large beauty catalogue.
